Panelists:

1. McKeever E. Conwell, II – Manager, Seed Portfolio Development TEDCO
Mac’s primary role at TEDCO is to find, help make investment decisions on, and help build Maryland-based startups. Mac works closely with many TEDCO portfolio companies to help them secure customers, partnerships, and funding. Mac also conducts extensive outreach to all of the tech communities and ecosystems in Maryland and does a lot of work supporting founders who consider themselves to be economically or socially disadvantaged. In October 2009, he co-founded his first tech startup, Given.to, which completed two accelerators, Accelerate Baltimore and NewMe Accelerator. Mac was later named entrepreneur-in-residence at NewMe. Mac and his team sold the technology in 2014. His next venture, RedBerry, was accepted into the Dreamit Ventures Accelerator in Philadelphia.

Mac has been a guest on Huffington Post Live several times and his companies have been featured in many media outlets such as USA Today, Washington Post, BET, CNN Headline News, and Black Enterprise. He attended Morgan State University, majoring in Computer Science.

Sarah – Principal at City Light Capital
Sarah is a Principal at City Light Capital, a VC firm that invests early in impactful companies with a focus on education, safety and care, and the environment. Sarah runs City Light’s “City Spark” fund, a seed-stage vehicle investing in 25+ companies per year with mission-driven founders. She also leads the fund’s impact measurement and management efforts. She is passionate about supporting companies that show demonstrated impact through their core products or services.

Sarah previously worked with impact investors in Mexico City (IGNIA and Adobe Capital), and with Endeavor, an organization supporting entrepreneurs in developing markets. Sarah has an MBA from The Wharton School and a MA in International Studies from The Lauder Institute with a concentration in Spanish and Latin America. She also holds a BA from Trinity College, where she majored in Spanish and International Relations.

Zac Stern – Associate at Rosecliff Ventures
Zac is an Associate on Rosecliff’s investment team. Prior to joining Rosecliff, Zac held positions in investment banking and fixed income risk management at AIG and Stifel Financial Corp. He studied finance and business management at NYU’s Stern School of Business. Zac is from Bergen County, NJ and in his free time he enjoys hiking, cooking pizza, and traveling.
