Crowdfunding is one of the most popular and easy ways for a startup or individual to raise money without the need to go through a bank, investors, or other traditional means. Yet, despite being possibly more easy than more traditional means of raising money doesn’t mean crowdfunding is easy.

About the presenter

Colin Trethewey is a public relations executive whose agency PRmediaNow has helped clients raise over 75-million dollars to launch their products via Crowdfunding.

PRmediaNow has led the PR efforts for more than 280 crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. 14 of those campaigns raised over one-million dollars and over 80 campaigns raised between 100,000 and one-million dollars. Colin is an APR (Accredited in Public Relations), a distinction held by only about 2 percent of the public relations practitioners. Before co-founding PRmediaNow, Colin was a national technology TV news correspondent.

His journalism career helped him master the art of presenting engaging stories about complicated technology concepts to mainstream news audiences. This is an invaluable skill in creating compelling stories for targeted journalists and newsroom decision makers.
