**Presentation Title:**
Amazon EKS: does “managed” cluster mean “secure” cluster?

**Presentation summary:**
The “shared responsibility” model applies to Amazon EKS, just as it does to other AWS services. When it comes to securing the applications and data that run on the cluster, it is important to be aware of the potential security threats resulting from misconfigured clusters, vulnerable container images, poorly implemented network and identity perimeters, and more. In today’s talk we will discuss a few of the security threats and the ways to mitigate them: – Container escape: where an attacker gains access to the host system through a compromised container – Misconfigured Kubernetes resources: where resources are not properly configured, leading to unauthorized access or data leakage – Insecure container images: where vulnerabilities in the container images can be exploited by attackers – Privileges escalation through loose permissions

**Presenter Bio:**
