About the Role
Teranet is currently looking for a Data Migration Specialist. You will w ork under the direction of the Configuration and Implementation Manager on the successful delivery of multiple Data Migration projects and processes
What will you be doing
Translate functional requirements into technical specifications for ETL development; Support the Data Consultant with developing Source-to-Staging-to-Target mappings and actively work with Development, Test and Implementation efforts.
Work with the Data Migration team to identify the appropriate strategy to ensure that migration is happening in the appropriate timeframe.
Write validation scripts to run over the Staging tables to report any invalid data. Invalid data should be identified to the Data Consultant to address with the client.
Identify and test for bugs and bottlenecks in the ETL solution.
Design data migration processes including collection of source data, data transfer mechanism and data upload mechanism.
Execute data migrations incrementally and provide resulting data to the Data Consultants.
Maintain appropriate levels of data security and privacy relating to customer data.
Complete and encourage others to complete administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
Comply with and actively ensure safe working practices of self and others in accordance with Health and Safety Procedures.
Observe, comply and assist with developing policies procedures, strategy and quality management systems.
Positively and actively support effective communication, encourage and provide constructive feedback.
Support and positively promote Foster Moore’s overall organizational vision, values and culture.
You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
You have a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience on large scale data migration projects
You have strong knowledge of Procedural SQL (Oracle, Postgres, SQL Server) and ETL development
You have programming experience in writing Complex Stored Procedures, Queries, Views, User Defined Functions, Cursors and Common Table Expressions
You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
You have strong relational database design experience
You are a strong communicator who can work with many different teams
You are highly organized with ability to establish and meet objectives on time
